Eyebrow Microblading FAQs
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that uses hairlike strokes or shading to fill in sparse or thinning brows. Unlike tattooing and permanent makeup, Microblading needles are used to insert semi-permanent pigment into the surface of your skin.
What are the benefits of Microblading?
Microblading will immediately create very beautiful and natural-looking brows. It will also eliminate the need for daily brow upkeep.
Who is a good candidate for Microblading?
Anyone who wants beautiful eyebrows when they wake up… every morning! Do you have sparse eyebrows or no eyebrows at all? Did you over tweeze and now your eyebrows don’t grow? Are you a cancer survivor or do you have alopecia? Do you work out regularly and your makeup always sweats off? Are you a busy business woman or mom on the go who has little to no time at all? Even if you have amazing eyebrows, but need a small fill, this new procedure recreates hair like strokes with a manual blade to give you natural & beautiful eyebrows.
How much does Microblading cost?
The Microblading procedure includes at least two visits, and both visits are equally important for long-lasting brows. Microblading is an investment in your appearance. It can cost anywhere from $450-$850 depending on where you live, but you have to remember that you get what you pay for. Do not choose a technician based solely on price. A lot of the beauty industry is not strictly regulated and there are people out there getting ‘certified’ to tattoo women’s faces with little knowledge on hygiene safety or the skin. Locate an artist in the same manner you would a doctor, dentist, etc. – do your research and find the best qualified professional!
How long will the procedure take?
The first session will take 2-3 hours. Much of the time will be spent perfecting the look of your brows before actually using the Microblading tool itself.
Is a touch-up session necessary?
Yes, Microblading is a two-step process. A touch up will be needed 4-6 weeks after your first visit. A touch up is included in the cost.
Does Microblading hurt?
It can. I start with a topical numbing agent to dull the area and minimize discomfort. It is a similar feeling to threading or plucking.
How do I determine the shape of my brows? Should I bring pictures?
Clients are welcome to bring in images with the style they like or the brow makeup they wear on a day-to-day basis. I will design your brows using a makeup pencil to do a symmetrical sketch based on your facial structure and desired look. We will select the color together based on your skin undertone, natural hair color, natural eye color, natural brow color and desired color. You are very much in control of the final result. I will simply offer suggestions based on experience.
How long is the healing process?
The healing process takes approximately 2 weeks. There is no down time; many clients walk right out the door ready to show off their new brows. The color is initially bolder right after the procedure, but it will soften in the 2-3 weeks following. I will provide you with important pre- and post-care instructions to ensure the best results.
How do I choose the right person to do my Microblading?
Much like any other investment, you want to be sure the person you choose is thoroughly qualified. Make sure to research the license, certifications and portfolio of whomever you are considering to make sure they are reputable. You want to be confident that you go to a licensed aesthetician (licensed skin care professional) who is trained in aesthetics. The right professional will help you select the appropriate shape and pigment based on your hair color, eye color and the tone of your skin.
How long does Microblading last?
Microblading typically lasts 1-2 years depending on the skin type and level of coverage, but it is highly recommended that you get touch-ups done every 12-16 months as the pigment will start to naturally fade.
